Celebrating National Day of the Cowboy

It was the National Day of the Cowboy, which is celebrated for an entire week in Redlands, California. Yee-ha!

I read Cowgirl Kate stories, listened to some fine Cowboy music, chatted with local Rodeo Queens, Cynthia Boswell and Sabrina Snowball, and tried to rope a "pretend" bull (got it on the fourth try!) at the Frugal Frigate, a terrific independent children's bookstore.

Special thanks to author J.R. Sanders (The Littlest Wrangler) for inviting me to take part in this festive week for a second year in a row!
